There are very many types and styles of role playing games. Their mechanics and settings and rules all differ from each other and it is possible to find the right game for the right age group and setting and curriculum area you would like to cover.

In this area you can choose which game you would like to learn more about. There will be information, suitability and links to more resources through each game section.

Dungeons and Dragons is based in a fantasy setting and has elves, dwarves and dragons! It has magic, combat and treasure!

MERP is based on Lord of the Rings. It has magic like in DnD but it is a lot more subtle. It has the creatures and races that are present in Tolkien's world. It uses a different numerical system basing rolls and skills on a percentage so two ten sided dice are used to make skill checks.

Rolemaster is a very comprehensive system that involves characters with complex characteristics and backgrounds. MERP above is based on the Rolemaster system using percentiles.

Shadowrun is based on a futuristic world that is now run my mega corpotarions. Magic has returned back to the world as well as dragons. It is a complicated diverse world of magic, technology and corruption.
